One of my friends and fellow quilters, Sue G, was entering a couple of art quilts at the Springville Art Museum and suggested I try. One of her daughters took our art pieces up to another daughter who lives in Springville. I did not have the proper hanging sleeve on my pieces. Sue's daughter, Liz, under Sue's instructions let out a seam on the hanging sleeve. Thanks to these two my pieces were accepted and I was awarded a what amounted to an honorable mention on my piece I called 'Reflections'. I also entered 'Sunset at Falls Park'. I am happy to have my pieces in the show at all. I don't know how many quilts were submitted, but there were 100 or so accepted. I am so thankful for good friends!
I am going to have to really work this tomorrow. I must have the quilt I have on the frame done by next Tuesday and then get another small one I have at least on the frame before Dave and I head to Moab for a few days. I am looking forward to some time with friends.
I still don't have the pattern printed and ready to go to the shop in Moab. That is another thing I have to get done before we head out on Thursday.
I have gotten quite a few tomatoes off from one plant. I have 4 planted, but the early girl bush tomato has produced so much it is wonderful. The zucchini is another story. The plants look beautiful, but the zucchini that have set don't grow very large. I finally pull one off, it was only about 6 inches long and has been the same size for 7 or more days. I don't know if it is just so hot that they aren't growing or what. When I planted them in Moab or in Cottonwood Heights, Ut, I would get so many zucchini that it was ridiculous. It seemed they would grow over night. Not here.....I keep saying I am not going to plant anything and then just can't help it. I am happy where I am, but I do miss the beautiful yard and garden I had in Cottonwood Heights. I need to see if I can get one of the community plots if I want to have any kind of a garden.
